This Is How: ‘Keep An Eye On The Horse’ by Michele Morea
Honoured to have a brand new ‘This is How…’ piece on the site today, as Michele Morea tells us about how he captured this recent Reportage Award-winning image. Really interesting thoughts on layering, composition, pre-visualisation, and documentary wedding photography in general – a great read!
Member Post: ‘The Pros and Cons of Working as a – Married – Photographer Team’ by Mitzy Geluk
It’s super to have Mitzy Geluk on the site today, as she talks all about the advantages (and certain disadvantages…!) of working as a photographer duo when you’re also married. Really interesting to hear her thoughts on this, and definitely a subject that will resonate with so many wedding photographer married teams – thanks so much, Mitzy!
Member Post: ‘Shooting For Yourself’ by Robin Goodlad
Delighted to have TiR member Robin Goodlad with us today, as he tells us all about the virtues of ‘shooting for yourself’. Robin’s thoughts and experiences of how his love of landscape photography has actually meant he’s become a better reportage photographer is a brilliant read – with stunning images as well:
Story Award by Pedro Vilela / Collection One
We don’t only award individual images; we also want to celebrate and showcase the skill of storytelling – of consistent and creative coverage from a wedding. That’s why we have our Story Awards, which are for a series of 15 – 20 images from a single wedding; photographers who receive a Story Award have demonstrated world-class coverage, capturing moment after moment to an extraordinarily high degree.
Here’s a Story Award by Pedro Vilela, from back in Collection One:
This is Now
Moments, moments, moments….we can’t get enough of them! So, once again, we’re thrilled to share so many of them, as seen and captured by some of our This is Reportage photographers over the past month or so, from weddings all over the world.
We love these ‘recent work’ pieces; it’s fascinating to see all the different things our members have been capturing – from nervous grooms, dramatic confetti-runs, intimate embraces, kids in cardboard-boxes (!) and so much more – but also the different ways in which these moments have been photographed: Every photographer sees things in their own way, having their own unique and distinct style, and we love that. Variety is the spice of life, no?
