Today is our birthday, whoop! We’re now the grand old age of two; two years ago today, we pushed the huge green button to make the website live, and we were humbled and amazed by the number of photographers who shared our vision of promoting the skill and artistry of documentary wedding photography – pushing into the limelight the thing that matters most: Moments.
Over the past two years we’ve welcomed hundreds of photographers from all over the world, and introduced them to thousands of brides and grooms all looking for their day to be captured by someone with an eye for moments. We’ve published eleven different Awards Collections (with the deadline for our final Collection of 2019 just a few days away: Submit by 23:59 GMT on 23rd November), published hundreds of blog posts (including over 100 ‘This is How’ posts, where our photographers explain in detail how they ‘got the shot’), launched our very own Podcast (with interviewees such as Adam Johnson, Ross Harvey, Citlalli Rico, Sanne De Block, Paul Fox, and many more to come weekly), had meetups and parties in London and Portugal (with our Christmas Party 2019 just under to weeks away; can’t wait!), had over 74,000 uses of the #thisisreportage hashtag over on Instagram, and just been constantly blown away by the standard of reportage photography by our members.
So, to celebrate our 2nd Birthday, we thought we’d run a little contest, where you can win 1 of 5 This is Reportage Memberships (worth £80 each). This contest is open to new members and existing members too (if an existing member wins, we’ll add a year on to their membership).
A few weeks ago we had our very first Birthday here at This is Reportage, and, as part of that, we ran an Instagram contest for a chance to win 1 of 5 free annual memberships worth £80 each (or an extra year added on to your account if you were already a member, as we think it’s incredibly important to include our existing photographers in any giveaways/promotions we may do).
It was a delight to see so many people entering, and sharing some brand new documentary wedding photography captures! We had over 150 entries in the end (which you can see all of over here), and it was incredibly tough to narrow down our five favourties (unlike our Awards, which are judged by five different judges each time, this contest was a bit of birthday fun, so was just judged by us).
Anyway, without further ado, here are the 5 winners! Congratulations to Maureen van Dijk, Mark Hillyer and Abigail Steed, who all won a free annual membership – and congrats to Leonard Walpot and Linda Bouritius, who won an extra year added on to their accounts.
Today is a bit of a special day for us, as it’s our 1st Birthday!
On 21st November last year we opened our doors (aka ‘clicked the big green button to launch the website’), not knowing what lay in store at all. We knew that we wanted to showcase and celebrate the very best in documentary wedding photography; to really put the power of the ‘moment’ – of real, natural captures – out there in the forefront, but would people share our vision…?
Well, the answer has been a massively resounding ‘Yes!’, and we can’t thank you – the photographers of TiR – enough. It is all down to you; your support and trust, your willingness to share, your amazing images. It’s a cliché for sure, but it really is true: Without you, we are nothing. But with you? Wow, what a year!
A couple of weeks ago we celebrated 10,000 uses of the #thisisreportage hashtag on Instagram (now over 12,000!) by running a contest, with photographers invited to submit their favourite documentary captures for the chance to win 1 of 3 annual memberships.
We were blown away by both the sheer number of entries (over 360!), and the jaw-dropping quality – making the job of picking our three favourites incredibly (incredibly!) tough (you can see for yourself, by viewing all the entries over here). But, choose we did, and we’re thrilled to announce the three winners below, all of whom win a year’s free membership. (We like to include our existing members in our promotions, too, so as Menino Conhece Menina Photography were one of the winners, and already members, they will receive their next year’s membership for free).
So, without further ado, and in no particular order, we announce the winners; we’re excited to have them all as part of This is Reportage!
We were amazed to find out today that, in only seven months since launching the website, we’ve had 10,000 uses of the #thisisreportage hashtag on Instagram!
To celebrate this milestone, we thought we’d run a little contest, with the prizes being 1 of 3 annual memberships to This is Reportage (worth £80 each). As always, we want to be fair to our existing members too (almost 400 of them now, wowsas!), so this contest is open to existing members as well as photographers who aren’t part of our community (existing members will win an extra year’s membership).
