This is Patrick Engel – Collection Three Judge
It’s an honour to announce that Patrick Engel will be one of our Collection Three judges! One half of a couple shooting team with his wife Rosa, Patrick is based in Germany and photographs wedding worldwide. I love the life; the humour and joy of weddings that Patrick captures; it’s a real honour to have him casting his eyes over Collection Three. (Image of Patrick above by Sanne De Block)
In terms of awards, I don’t think there’s much – if anything! – that Patrick hasn’t achieved yet, including the above Reportage Award in Collection One (which you can read about how he captured it over here), another Reportage Award (below) in Collection Two, and awards from Fearless, WPJA, ISPWP and Masters of German Wedding Photography.
One of the many things which defines a great photographer, in my opinion, is the ability to go through their portfolio and say “I wish I’d taken that…!” – and this is exactly what I’ve said many, many times whilst looking at Patrick’s imagery! The image below, for example, has to be one of my favourite images I’ve seen this year; brilliant.
