About Rebecca

I’m Rebecca, a documentary wedding and family photographer based in Bedfordshire, working across the South East.
I’m drawn to the in-between moments — the ones that happen quietly, often unnoticed, but carry the real weight of the day. A look across the room, a hand on a shoulder, the way people interact when they forget they’re being photographed. That’s where the story lives for me.
My approach is observational and unobtrusive. I don’t direct or stage what’s happening — I let things unfold as they are and focus on being present enough to notice what matters. Weddings are full of overlapping stories, and my job is to document more than just the obvious moments, so when you look back, it feels like the day, not a performance of it.
Before photography, I worked in animal welfare — a background that shaped how I move through the world and how I photograph. That work taught me patience, sensitivity, and the importance of reading situations carefully rather than forcing outcomes. It reinforced the value of trust, calm presence, and knowing when to step forward and when to step back — all of which sit at the core of how I work on a wedding day.
Travel has also shaped how I see. In my early twenties I spent time living and travelling in places like India and Spain, experiences that taught me to slow down, observe, and pay attention to people and their surroundings. That way of seeing still informs my work now.
I photograph families as well as weddings, and working with children has further reinforced what documentary photography is really about — patience, honesty, and accepting that the best moments are rarely planned.
I work quietly, instinctively, and with a dry sense of humour. My aim is always the same: to tell the full story, not just the highlight reel.
