About Leonard

LNRD is Leonard, or Leo as friends use to say. I grew up in a small town the South of the Netherlands and have been living in Utrecht (central Netherlands) since 2006. I'm happily married to Janneke and am the proud father of two boys: Floris and Julius.

I became a fulltime professional photographer in 2013. After finishing my studies at Utrecht University, I graduated as a linguist.
Unfortunately I got burned out, but fortunately recovered stronger than I was before. Photography always has been a hobby for me and I don't want to dramatise too much, but it turned out that it helped me to recover from being burned out and find my path: telling stories through images instead of words. That is the perfect fit for me and that is how I approach weddings. Always looking and observing, anticipating and reacting to whatever happens. That is where the moments are and where I see emotions that add to the story I want to show. It basically is finding the connection between a couple, their friends and families.
