About Helen

I've been photographing weddings for nearly 15 years and I still find myself genuinely moved by them. There's something about being trusted to witness one of the most significant days of someone's life that never gets ordinary.

My approach is instinctive and quiet. I work in the background, watching and waiting for the moments that can't be staged - the look between a parent and child, the friend who holds it together until suddenly they don't, the groom seeing his partner for the first time. These are the images I'm after.

I'm based in London and shoot across the UK and internationally. I'm drawn to couples who care more about the party than the props, who want their wedding to feel like themselves, and who'd rather not spend the afternoon posing in a field.

After nearly 250 weddings I still believe the best photographs happen when people forget I'm there.
